With a population increasing in age, reverse mortgages are becoming the product of choice to help baby boomers meet their financial goals. Reverse mortgage are very different from conventional mortgages and originating them successfully requires new approaches. This course will prepare students to get started originating reverse mortgages properly and teach how to approach and work with the clientele most suited for these products.
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Create a plan for their company to begin originating or advising on reverse mortgages
- Identify potential funders and lenders

Recognize scenarios in which a reverse mortgage would be an appropriate loan program

Explain various ways reverse mortgages can benefit borrowers

Identify potential borrowers and successful marketing techniques to reach them

Develop a marketing plan that services seniors

Define key reverse mortgage terminology

Explain the major aspects of a reverse mortgage, including all fees, costs and FAQ

Understand the basic laws and ethics surrounding the completion of a reverse mortgage application
A comprehensive 25-question assessment will be given online after the course to ensure that participants have mastered the course curriculum presented.

Course Delivery:
The training sessions utilize WebEx technology in conjunction with audio conferencing. Polling capabilities, live chat, and question & answer sessions allow participants to easily interact with subject matter experts. The course consists of four 90-minute sessions, either over a 4-week period or over 4 consecutive days. Pre-reading and exercises are included and accessed through the AllRegs Academy learning management system. Participants are required to complete assignments prior to each session.
