The class will use laptops with wireless Internet access to explore problem-solving case studies, using the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council web sites, as well as AllRegs Online products. Course Topics: Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA); Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA); Home Ownership Equity Protection Act (HOEPA); Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA); Fair Credit Reporting Act/Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FCRA/FACTA); Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA); Gramm-Leach-Bliley (Privacy Act),\; Homeowner Protection Act (PMI Act); State Issues, including Loan Officer Licensing/Continuing Education, and Prepayment Penalties; and Predatory Lending.
Instructors will apply the following exercises to enforce student learning:
- Investigating customer complaints
- How to deal with fraud
- Handling hybrid products, such as Negative Amortization, Reverse Mortgages, Discriminatory Products, and Stated Income Loans
- Examining case law exercises specific to regulation
- Establishing policies and procedures

Class Schedule: Classroom programs begin with registration on Monday at noon. Class is held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Classes are held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Class begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning and concludes at noon after a final assessment. Students successfully completing the course will receive a certificate of completion.
Tuition and Registration: Tuition for early registration (through August 9) is $1,080 per person, including course materials, lunch and refreshment breaks. Tuition for regular registration (after August 9) is $1,200. Dinner, lodging and travel are not included.
